Evendur’s Keep – Dec 1st

If you missed it, read Evendur’s Keep – Nov 17th.

As it occasionally happens a player wasn’t enjoying their character. Samuel had built a Wood Elf Cleric named Aelen Naikïr but the character didn’t quite buzz right with the party or with the player. The Fellow Foes are rarely inside the box so Samuel ventured into the DM Guide to find the build for a Aasimar (Celestial version of a Tiefling).

Introducing Lucien Mornbearer, an Aasimarian Bard who has been sent to track a devil known as Zarephath last located by his mentor (via Discern Location) in the area of Evendur’s Keep.

The party packed up early in the morning after getting some grits for breakfast an headed out. A short hike further up the mountain and they arrived at the exposed part of the castle to find an abandoned camp and a crack in the exposed wall. As Rhogar went to investigate a barrel, looking for wine of course, wolves whom were inside of the buried structure jumped out from the crack surprising the Rhogar and subsequently tearing him down to zero HP. The rest of the crew jumped into action and slaughtered the pack and patched Rhogar back up.

The adventures entered through the crack to discover that someone else had passed through the wall and looted some of the rooms. A hand full of skeletons, a giant spider, and a ghoul later the game night had to get wrapped up. In the final room explored a Spell Scroll (Cantrip), a Healing Potion, a wedding band, and a farewell letter written in blood were discovered.

In two weeks when we meet again for this campaign the history of King Evendur may begin to unfold and the mystery of the castle may become slightly more clear.
