Dungeon World is a D&D’ish game utilizing the Powered by the Apocalypse (PBTA) system which was originally built for the RPG Apocalypse World. Games built using PBTA are known in the industry for being story driven, action-adventures in settings including gritty sci-fi, fantasy, high-fantasy, and even some Lovecraftian horror. Most notably, in my opinion, PBTA is known for being easy to dive into for both veteran RPers and noobs alike.

As it occasionally happens a player wasn’t enjoying their character. Samuel had built a Wood Elf Cleric named Aelen Naikïr but the character didn’t quite buzz right with the party or with the player. The Fellow Foes are rarely inside the box so Samuel ventured into the DM Guide to find the build for a Aasimar (Celestial version of a Tiefling).

The adventurers spent three long weeks of helping to defend the rural areas around Theymarsh from the skeleton hoards with no end in sight. In addition, people from the town had been disappearing without a trace causing an atmosphere of fear in the town. The Governor asked that the adventurers seek the source of the vile assault when word had come to the province that the skeletons were traveling from the West and were even more present near a nearby trade settlement located at the base of the Alamir Mountains.

Evendur’s Keep – Nov 3rd
A new bi-weekly D&D campaign started on November 3rd with the Fellow Foes. Three paladins and two clerics traveled to Theymarsh on pilgrimage to the Temple of Old Life. Though the circumstances in which they joined together could be viewed as strange their adventure they are about the begin will take the cake for oddness.
Firefly RPG
The Game Testers group picked up the Firefly RPG to take for a spin and we are having a mighty good time.
Call of Cthulhu
Last night the Game Testers group finished up the Call of Cthulhu: Quick Start Rules (7th Edition). CoC is known for being a ruthless mystery game where player characters suffer fates sometimes worse than death. 7th Edition smoothed out gameplay and at first glance gave the players some new ways to stay alive but functionally these new mechanics have just as much of a chance to dig your grave deeper.
