Professions in the South

As the Zaican realm is less like the European Feudal economic & societal systems and more Orient/Samurai, it was suggested that there would be more oriental influence on the Zaican industries and trades. So I went looking on the internet…

I found very little information detailing or listing jobs in the ancient orient. Where the orient includes regions like China, Mongolia, Nipon (Japan), Laos, Cambodia, Korea, etc. First we need to be to be authentic and respectful of Chinese historians that prefer to use the phrase “craft and trade associations” (gongshangye tuanti) instead of guilds.

The criterion ‘common type of work’ is often divided into the craft and the merchant sector (may also be known as Craft & Commerce.) To become an artisan in the craft and trade associations, a person worked under a master artisan for many years as an unpaid apprentice (except for room & board) at a young age.

What little information I did find gave names of trades but they were already translated in to something recognizable from the Jobs in the North document already assembled. So I’m asking any research/resource savvy person to get more info in here ASAP.
